As of July 30, 2010 Providence Grain Group Inc, operating as Providence Grain Solutions, has completed the purchase of a concrete elevator at Viking, previously owned by Cargill Limited.
The purchase of this elevator, which is adjacent to the existing steel elevator, gives Providence Grain the capability to load out 60 cars and increases storage capacity by approximately 4500mt.
Waskatenau
On Wednesday, April 21, 2010 Providence Grain Solutions lost our elevator at Waskatenau, Alberta to fire. Thankfully, the new fertilizer plant was untouched.
Although, this represents a major disruption in business at this location, we are committed to provide freight assistance to our customers to get their grain moving. Our Waskatenau bids on our web site are a picked up on farm price. A new office has been opened at the Waskatenau site and continues to serve our customers.
Providence is still very committed to our customers, community and is currently working through rebuild options. We apologize for any inconvenience that this fire caused and sincerely hope that we can continue to count on your support going forward.
